With the introduction of the Dairy Barn, you are now able to store Cows (and feed them), just like normal storable items. However, you are still capable of having cows gifted and held in your Inventory for a time (just like normal items as well). This can cause some confusion, especially since the total number of Cows you have may be combined with in each section of the Inventory (Nature and Storage).
To help combat this confusion (until a more-comprehensive fix is installed), we have implemented a feature which makes it so that only Baby Cows can be sold from the Nature section, and the adult Cows from the Storage section.
Summary
The Nature section reveals the baby Cow (cows gifted or awarded) total with the total number of Cows that are stored in the Dairy Barn, as well. However, only baby Cows can be sold from the Nature section and vise versa from the Storage section. Before this fix, players who sold all the Cows in the Nature Section may also have sold their adult Cows in the Dairy Barn, unknowingly. This fix has been established until a further design can be implemented to prevent the two groups of Cows from being merged.

Q: Why am I unable to milk all of the Cows I put in my Dairy Barn?
A: Cows can be fed every 30 minutes, whether they're in the Dairy Barn or not. If you have 5 Cows in your Dairy Barn and you milk them, and in 10 minutes add 3 more, you will be able to milk the 3 Cows then, and then the original 5 Cows 20 minutes later. If you wait a while longer and don't milk the new group, you'll be able to milk all the collective Cows together at the same time. (The same is true if you choose to milk only a certain amount of Cows instead of the whole Barn.)
Q: How many Cows can I have in my Kingdom and my Dairy Barn?
A: You can fit 25 Cows in your Kingdom, but the Dairy Barn can hold 30. This extra limit has been placed to prevent any major issues from occurring in the event that one or two extra Cows somehow snuck in the Barn.
