Our goal at Zynga is to bring players the most fun and social games on the web. Over the past year, we have had a great time working on Indiana Jones™ Adventure World™, and we thank you for joining us. As of 11/15/12, Adventure World is no longer available to new players and will no longer be accepting payments. Existing Adventurers like you will be able to access the game until 1/13/13. After that time, the game will no longer be available. We’re excited to offer bonus packages to Adventure World players to try other Zynga games.

We’ve noticed some chatter recently about the future of Indiana Jones™ Adventure World™ and wanted to provide everyone an update. Like all Zynga Studios, Zynga Boston is committed to bringing our players the games they love to play. While supporting our existing games, we're always working towards creating new games to share with you. 

Adventure World is a unique Zynga game experience, with full maps and adventures for players to progress through. However, since Adventure World requires extensive map creation and engineering, we’ve had to scale back on the development resources available to it so we can continue to focus on bringing you new social games. As a result, we recently made the decision to suspend the creation of new content forAdventure World. 

Our Customer Service and Community teams will continue to support our loyal players for as long as they are playing Adventure World. As always, we will continue to resolve your issues and gather your feedback.

Guide to Hiring Crew

Adventuring alone can be dangerous, hire your friends to help you! You can hire a limited number of friends for every expedition.

Summary FAQ

• Q: Can I hire the same friend more than once after they accepted my request?
  A: Yes, you can hire each friend who has accepted your request once every 24 hours.
  
• Q: How many friends can I invite for each expedition?
  A: You can invite as many friends as you’d like, but only 5 of them will be able to accept the invitation.
  
• Q: How many friends can I hire per day?
  A: You can hire up to 5 friends per day.
  
• Q: How many actions can each hired friend perform?
  A: You will see the remaining number of actions on the energy bolt attached to their icon.

Part 1: Inviting Friends

1. Before you can hire your friends for an expedition you first have to invite them and then wait for them to accept. To invite a friend, first click on “Ask for Help” on the bar at the bottom of your screen.
   
   
   
   
   
   
2. Then click on “Ask for Help” and send requests to your friends.
   
   

Part 2: Hiring your friends

1. Once your friends have accepted your invitation, you will see them appear on the bar at the bottom of your screen.
   
   
   
   
2. Hovering over your friend’s picture will provide you with more information on the tools at their disposal and will allow you to hire them. Once hired, your friend will appear close to where you are and you will be able to direct them the same way you direct your own adventurer.
   
   
   
   
3. There are two (2) additional way for you to hire your friends once they have accepted your invite. Wherever you see a “shadow person”, or an avatar of your friend, you can click on them to bring up the crew hiring page.
   
    
   
   
4. From that page you can select the friends you wish to hire. , and they will appear in place of the “shadow person” or your friend’s avatar.
   
   
   
   
5. Regardless of how you have hired them, they will appear on your map with an energy number on their portrait; this is how many actions they can perform. Simple select which action you would like them to do.
   
   
   
   
6. After they completed all the actions allowed you will have the option to either thanking them for their help, or ignoring.
   
   
    

And that’s the quick and simple way to get a bit of help on those tough adventures. Remember, any time you need a hand just invite a few friends!

Guide to Expansions

Greetings Adventurers!

Expanding your Base Camp will give you more room to decorate it, as well as give you access to unique sites! Here is how you can expand in a few easy steps.

  A: Anywhere adjacent to the land you have already expanded.
  
• Q: Can I move the expansion after pacing it?
  A: No.

Expanding your Base Camp is a great way to discover unique sites and continue decorating your home away from home.

New Gadgets are now available

New Gadgets are now available!

The information leaked a little while ago that we were introducing a new tent with new Gadgets and it belonged to Trip. Well, the leak was true and now it is available! I bet it was actually Trip who leaked the information!

 

 Trip’s Gadget tent is now available for you to place on your Base Camp.

 

Place Trip’s Gadget Tent on your Base Camp today to create gadgets like Wolf Bait, Master Spider Bait, and a Portable Boulder… remember how you killed that T-Rex in the earlier Adventure? Pretty cool eh? And haven’t you wished there was one Gadget that attracts, poisons, and defeats any Spider in the game? Trip’s got your back on that one!

You will need to gather the crafting items for these new Gadgets by asking your friends for specific items.

 

What is this Adventure Society Worker you ask? While this “Gadget” has yet to be released, I can say that this is someone who will help you out like your Crew, but act more like Indiana Jones and Marion Ravenwood does in the Maps where they show up. This will release soon, and is a really cool feature!

Need more Energy? Turn your excess Food and Coins into Energy!

You have probably seen and used both the Hydro Plant and Generator to receive Energy on a daily basis. In an effort to assist you in leveraging excess resources that you may have in your inventory, we now have introduced the Field Kitchen.

Do you have some spare Food and Coins in your Inventory? Now is your chance to turn those items into valuable Energy with the Field Kitchen. Once placed on your Base Camp you will need a few items (listed below) to complete your Field Kitchen so that you can begin to harvest from it. These are newer items to collect, so make sure to ask your friends, and check the Adventure World feed to find them - http://zynga.tm/Bl

As you can also see below, once you build your Field Kitchen, you will need it 20 Food and 2,000 Coins in order to Generate Energy every day. As you upgrade your Field Kitchen you will have the ability to Generate more and more Energy every day - Level 1 (6 Energy), to Level 2 (8 Energy), to Level 3 (10 Energy), to Level 4 (12 Energy), to Level 5 (14 Energy).

We have definitely heard your request for more Energy and are implementing these types of features (Hydroplant, Generator...) for you to leverage to assist you in generating Energy so that you can continue to play Adventure World.

We feel that this is a very important feature for Adventure World which will become a very valuable asset for you to have on your Base Camp, and hope that you feel the same!

Turn your Coins and Water into Energy!

Just released in Adventure World, the ability to turn your Coins and Water into Energy to help you on your Adventure. Place the Hydroplant on your Base Camp today!

Everyone probably has some spare Coins and Water in their Inventory and now is your chance to turn those items into valuable Energy with the Hydroplant. Once placed on your Base Camp you will need a few items (listed below) to complete your Hydroplant so that you can begin to harvest from it. Some of these items you may have already collected – like the Drive Shafts or the Work Lights.

As you can see below, you will need it 20 Water and 2,000 coins in order to Generate Energy every day. As you upgrade your Hydroplant you will have the ability to Generate more and more Energy every day - Level 1 (6 Energy), to Level 2 (8 Energy), to Level 3 (10 Energy), to Level 4 (12 Energy), to Level 5 (14 Energy).

We feel that this is a very important feature for Adventure World which will become a very valuable asset for you to have, and hope that you feel the same!

Upgrade your Tibet Tools to get ahead faster!

You have seen the “Upgrade tools” pop-up since we released the new Tibet maps (the Mystery of the Yeti) and now you can! We just released the Tibet Tool Yurt on Friday so that you can now upgrade your Climbing Gear, Metal Detector, Wrench and Canteen.

 

Upon placement of the Yurt on your Base Camp, you can begin to upgrade your tools.

 

You may notice that you have already collected some of the Glyphs that you need to complete the upgrades. With the releases of the new maps, we have tried to include parts which you can collect and leverage for new buildings that we are releasing. We hope that you enjoy that ability.  

All 4 tools have the ability to be upgraded to level 4 at this time, with level 5 & 6 hopefully coming in the near future.

We hope that you are able to easily upgrade your Tools by collecting Glyphs and asking your friends for parts.

Need Energy? Place the Generator on your Base Camp today!

Build the Generator to produce Energy every day using Fuel and Coins!

 

Energy is very valuable in Adventure World, so we hope our players will like a building which can turn other items into Energy….especially items which you already have in your inventory!

 

As you can see in the above image, after building the Level 1 Generator, you are able to turn Fuel and Coins into Energy.  You can upgrade the Generator to increase the amount of Energy it can produce on a daily basis. At Level 1 it can produce 6 Energy. Upgrading to Level 2 increases the cap to 8 Energy, and upgrading to Level 3 increases the cap to 10 Energy.

But how do you upgrade the Generator and what parts are needed? Well that is the even better part, just take a look at the below image and let me know what you think!

 

I bet that you never thought that you would be using these parts again! Tiles, Wood, Nails and Paint are the majority of the materials which are needed to upgrade your Generator. Of course you also need to receive some Gold Pumps and Blue Coils form your friends and neighbors as well! Odds are that you are well on your way through the upgrades already.

We feel that this is a very important feature for Adventure World which will become a very valuable asset for you to have, and hope that you feel the same!

The Lucky Dragon Chest - Receive your Rewards today!

This is no ordinary Chest for you to place on your Base Camp. This Chest rewards you with items that you specifically need. Whether it is items for your Base Camp Buildings, Zoology Animals, Gadgets, Bonus Crew, or even viral items which are needed to complete your older active expeditions, this Chest knows what you need – almost like it is psychic! At the two highest offering levels you also have the chance to be rewarded with a 120 Energy pack, an Energy Vitamin, or even a stack of Adventure Cash.

To begin, you simply need to place the fully built Chest on your Base Camp. Then ask your Friends for Jade Trinkets and Lotus Blossoms and begin to collect these items. Once you have collected enough for an offering, choose the size that you wish to present and collect your rewards.

From the Humble offering to the Supreme offering, you can choose the size of the reward that you will receive.  Just looking for something small to medium sized, you will only need to present 6/12 Trinkets and Blossoms, choose the level of offering and receive the rewards!

 

Here is a sample of the rewards for the Humble offering:

 

Looking for something more valuable? Simply present 24/36 Trinkets and Blossoms, choose the level of offering and receive the rewards!

 

Once you make a “Supreme offering”, your rewards will look something like this:

 

Simply check your inventory to see what you have been rewarded with.

Earn precious rewards by collecting Artifacts

Indiana Jones was well versed in the art of collecting valuable Artifacts, so what would be more perfect then introducing an Artifact Tent that enables to you to collect and harvest Artifacts for permanent rewards!  We would like to introduce to you Prof. Allen’s Artifact Tent. Place the fully constructed tent on your Base Camp and begin collecting these Artifacts right away!

Similar to the Zoology Animals, Artifacts are only found on certain maps. You will need to look out for the Artifact icons in order to locate the specific maps that contain these Artifacts. 

Upon Map completion, you will be rewarded with an Artifact that you can recover, take back to your Base Camp, and place. There are 2 specific Artifacts that you are initially tasked with finding, and there may be more in the near future. Each of these Artifacts, once collected and placed on your Base Camp, will provide you with a precious reward each day you harvest it.

• Idol of Energy (map name) – 4 Energy per day
• Idol of Wealth (map name) – 2 Adventure Cash per day

You also have the ability to harvest your Artifact Tent in order to receive Coins, XP and chances to receive parts for buildings on your Base Camp that you have yet to complete.

Collect Rewards by locating the new Dig Sites

With new Adventures and maps releasing every week, we also like to bundle in exciting new features and functionality, and this week is no different. Within the new maps (the Totem of the Ages), you may have noticed new Dig Sites.

These new Dig Sites can be very beneficial to you in a number of ways. They offer you the ability to earn XP, Energy and Coins for every Dig that you click on, which is actually a quest for you to complete on the initial map – the Easter Island Dig.

 As they say on TV, “But Wait, there’s more!” Did you also see the Hint text? These new Dig Sites also offer you the chance to earn Adventure Cash! You also have the chance to collect Gadget parts & completed Gadgets, or viral parts that you get by asking your neighbors, like the Ventriloquism Books in the image below!

These new Dig Sites are also “never-ending,” meaning that you can stay on the map all day and harvest as much as you like to see how many rewards you can collect.
