Hi Chefs,
Café World is turning three! What this means is that there are some players who have been playing the game a lot longer than others. This is reflected in the game in two ways – the player’s level and the player’s capacity to cook. The latter essentially is a measure of the number of stoves/burners (some regular, some mega and some ultra) a player has in her café.
In an attempt to ensure that lower level players have a fair chance of completing quests and achieving better rewards, we introduced the Smart Engine in the 7 Course Meal event. The main aim of the Smart Engine was to identify the right challenge for players based on their cooking capacity. Chef Elena is at level 300 and has 360 burners. Chef Manny on the other hand is at level 52 and only has 100 burners. Elena obviously is a high-level player who will be able to take on tougher challenges (the cook-time and number of serves of a dish, for example). Hence, she will be provided with a set of tasks that are more difficult than a player at a lower level, like Chef Manny. In such a case, the Smart Engine will provide Manny with simpler tasks, which are within his cooking capacity. The objective of the Smart Engine doesn’t end here. We hope to accompany this with better rewards for players attempting tougher tasks, like Elena. So, it’s not just smarter goals, but smarter rewards too.
The Smart Engine introduced with the 7 Course Meal did not perform the way we intended it to. It had a number of glitches resulting in a poor experience for our players. Hence we have decided to roll it back and reintroduce identical tasks for all players (this will be evident to players as they move to the next menu in the 7 Course event). We will revisit the Smart Engine again in a few weeks – once we have fixed the bugs in the system.
Having said this, we will make sure that from our end we make this game as playable and enjoyable as possible – for all players. Stay tuned for some more exciting features coming your way, like the Café Kiosk, which will allow you to cater to customers on the go – customers who are too busy to step into your café. We’ve also got some exciting new dishes lined up for you. And of course, don’t forget to celebrate the 3rd anniversary of Café World with us.

Thanks,
The Café World Team
