Zynga Poker League FAQ - (ZPL)

GENERAL QUESTIONS

What is the Zynga Poker League?

Zynga Poker League (ZPL) offers a new way to compete with other players around your skill level, even if you never sit down at a table with them. Players will be grouped with up to 99 people and ranked based on gross chips won. At the end of the each week everyone will receive a small prize, but the top performers in each League will get better virtual prizes as well as promotion into a higher larger virtual prize league.

How do I get entered into the Zynga Poker League Season?

Just play a hand and you'll be entered. It's that easy.

What if I don’t want to be in a Zynga Poker League?

If you do not wish to participate, you can always opt out via your game settings.

How long does a Season last?

The current Season will run over the course of 8 weeks.

How many tiers are there and how many divisions per tier?

Diamond, Gold, Silver and Bronze are the four tiers; each consist of three or five divisions.

How many people am I competing with at any one time?

Once you are placed into a tier you will be competing with up to 99 other players in your division for the remainder of that week.

I want to compete with my friends in the same League. Is that possible?

Unless you're placed in the same tier and division, you will not be able to compete directly with your friends.  

Where can I find information about the current season?

You can always access your league info via the 'League' tab or button in the lobby or at a table.

Will other people be able to see what my League rank is? 

Your poker buddies will be able to see your current League rank but everyone else will only be able to see your Tier and Division.

How is gameplay for Leagues any different than normal gameplay?

There is no difference in gameplay, however the Zynga Poker League will track your gross winnings and offer virtual prizes based on how well you play.

Do I need to pay in order to be successful in the Zynga Poker League?

You do not have to pay to achieve success in the Zynga Poker League.

Can I play as a member of a team if I play in a League?

There are no Teams in the current Zynga Poker League Season. Every player competes as their own entity and receives 100% of the prizes they earn.

How come I dont see the Zynga Poker League?

Due to the massive number of competitors, we will be rolling out the feature over the course of a few days so you may not see the leaderboards right away, but don’t worry! As of the start of Leagues (June 23rd), we are keeping count of your winnings even if you can’t see the leaderboards.

Do chips I buy contribute to my league rank?

Chips purchased in game do not contribute to your league rank. League rank is solely calculated by gross chips won.

How is the sweepstakes related to leagues?

Each league point can be redeeped at the end of the league season for an entry into the sweepstakes. The drawing for prizes will be held at the end of the season. For more details, please see the Official Rules.

How will I know if I won a real world prize?

Please be on the lookout for an email from a company named, Tenthwave, who are helping us run the sweepstakes. They will reach out to you mid to late August if you've been chosen as a winner.

STATUS, PROMOTIONS AND DEMOTIONS

What determines what division and tier I am in?

Your initial League placement is based on how many gross chips you've won in previous weeks.

How do I gain status and get promoted to higher divisions and tiers?

Depending on your League placement, finishing in the top 10-30 places of your League will earn you promotion to the next Tier and/or Division above.

Can I get demoted and move down a division or tier?

Finishing in the bottom 10-30 places of your league may cause you to be demoted to the next Tier and Division below. If you are currently in the lowest Division of your current Tier you will not be moved down to a lower Tier. Multiple weeks of inactivity in a row may also cause you to be demoted.

If “gross chips won” is used to determine promotion or demotion, does that include rakes (such as the Hand Strength Meter or Helping Hands charities)?

Only gross chips won affects your Zynga Poker League rank. All other chip total adjustments from rakes, purchases, etc have no effect.

Where can I check on my promotion or demotion status easily?

By looking at your current league rank leaderboard you can scoll up or down to check promotion/demotion zones for your current League.

When will I be told if or when I get moved up or down in divisions and/or tiers?

Once a week has ended, the next time you come into Zynga Poker you'll be notified of your final rank for the previous week, if you were promoted or demoted, and the rewards you received.

Can I play tournaments to gain status?

Yes! Any chips you received for winning a tournement will count towards your gross chips won tally.

Can I use my mobile device (such as an iPhone or Android tablet) to gain status?

Yes! Once you've played a hand during a season on the web game, any chips you win while playing on a mobile device from that point forward will count towards your Zynga Poker League rank.

What happens at the end of the Season?

When the Season ends we'll tally all the League Points you've earned throught the Season. If you've earned enough to qualify for one of our Prize Packages you will receive those rewards. If you play from a location that qualifies for our Sweepstakes each of your League Points will turn into 1 Sweepstakes entry for a chance to win a real world prize.

What are League Points?

League Points are the basis on which your Season ending prizes are rewarded. The more League Points you accumulate the better your Season ending prize package will be. If you qualify for Sweepstakes then you will receive a Sweepstakes entry for each League Point as well.

Do I start the next Season in the same division and tier from the previous Season?

Currently, initial placement into your Tier/Division for each Season will not be based on Previous season finishes.

PRIZES

What kind of prizes can I get?

Everyone who participates in the Zynga Poker League will receive Chips, XP, and League Points weekly. Once a Season completes, everyone who has earned enough League Points will receive a Prize Package containing some mix of Chips, chip discounts, Mystery Gifts, and more!

What do I need to do in order to get a prize?

Play hands, win chips! That's all you need to do to be eligible to win prizes.

How are prize recipients determined?

Everyone can win prizes, how large your prize is will be determined by which Tier/Division you are in for each week.

When are prizes rewarded?

Everyone who participates will receive Chips, Xp, and League Point prizes weekly. Season ending prize packages will be chosen within a week of the completion of the Season.

Where will all of the Official Rules be kept?

You can always view the offical rules by click the <"i"> from withing any Zynga Poker League dialog.

Can I win multiple prizes in a Season?

Yes, there are no limits to the amount of prizes you can win.

Can I win multiple prizes in multiple seasons? Even the same prize?

Each Season will be run as its own competition, prizes you received from previous Seasons will not affect your prize eligibility in the current one.

What is the Grand Prize?

The Grand Prize from our Zynga Poker League Season Sweepstakes (for the first Season, ending August 27) will be a Ford Mustang Shelby GT500.

How will the Ford GT500 be awarded?

The winner of the grand prize will be notified in the week following the end of the first Season, August 27. 

Will there be other Grand Prizes other than a Ford GT500 in the future?

Yes, once this Season has ended look for more information about the upcoming Season prizes!
