Half the Sky Movement: The Game is a adventure that raises awareness & funds to empower women and girls across the world. Players embark on a journey to complete quests and unlock real-life donations from sponsors that reflect the important issues portrayed in the game.

   
 

Mission

In 2009, Pulitzer-Prize winning authors Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn approached Games for Change, a non-profit that catalyzes social impact through digital games, to serve as the game’s Executive Producer, believing the game could raise awareness of important issues amongst a generation that’s becoming more and more social media-dependent. 

The Game is the latest installment of the Half the Sky Movement, which includes the #1 New York Times best-selling book Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide and a critically acclaimed primetime PBS television series featuring A-list celebrity advocates America Ferrera, Diane Lane, Eva Mendes, Meg Ryan, Gabrielle Union, Olivia Wilde and George Clooney. Like the book and TV series, Half the Sky Movement: The Game features women and girls living under difficult circumstances all over the globe, including the United States, and invites players to become part of the solution.

The game was developed by Frima Studio, with in-kind support and resources from Zynga.org.
