Firstly, we want to thank each and every one of you for playing! We're very excited to watch Empires & Allies grow, and pleased with all the possibilities the future holds. We appreciate you guys having the patience to stick with us as we continue tweak balance issues and work out kinks.
Disclaimer: Obviously, the things mentioned in this post are still tentative. These new features and concepts are all works in progress, and there is always a possibility that some of them may be delayed, altered, or removed completely.
With all that in mind, we'd like to take this opportunity to talk to you guys a little bit about what our plans are for the future of Empires & Allies!
Defense Towers
Part of our goal for the future is to try and make the placement of units and buildings on your island more strategic. The Defense Tower is part of that. This is a building that you can build and staff that will allow you to protect certain parts of you island from invasion—giving you a last ditch defense when the enemy attacks, as well as allowing you to separate out parts of your island so that some areas are open to be attacked, but other areas remain safe.
Global PVP: The War Room
This is a feature we know people have been asking for since the beginning: The War Room will let you find and invade people who aren't on your Facebook friends list. We're still hammering out the details of how the matchmaking is going to work, and we still have a few secrets and surprises up our sleeve—but for now, we want to make it clear to everyone that we're planning on opening up PVP with people outside of your neighbor bar.
