Let’s take a couple minutes to explain a little bit about Renaming. Now that you are starting to build up a City of your own, you probably don’t want to be stuck with whatever default name was forced on you, right? How about we change that City name to reflect your own sparkling personality!
Changing the name of your City is easy as pie. You should see the existing City name at the top-center of your game screen. All you have to do is click right on that to get started!
Now, after the Rename dialog box pops up, you should see the image below. Just pick any name you like, and then click “Accept.” If you changed your mind about Renaming, you can always click the “X” in the upper right-hand corner of the dialog box to escape out of the Rename dialog.
Congratulations! Now, you have Renamed your City!
You can also use Rename on Districts and Buildings. Let’s try it. Click the yellow arrows icon in the lower right-hand side of the screen that looks like this:
This opens Design Mode. To access the Rename ability, click the icon that looks like a name badge with a pencil on it.
With the Rename ability selected, hover over a building or district you would like to Rename, and click it.
Now the Rename dialog box pops up again, and you can enter a new name for your District or Building! (In this example, the Building we are Renaming is the Convenience Store.) Click “Accept” to complete the Renaming, click the “X” if you changed your mind, or you can also try the “Randomize” button to have the game give you a randomized name choice.
You can exit Design Mode by clicking the large red “X” icon at the bottom of the screen. Back in the game again, if you hover over a Building or District you have Renamed, the information flyout above it now displays the new name you have given it.
