Collected coins are lost when the connection is lost when collecting coins from the Leaderboard

An issue is affecting players who use the Leaderboard to collect coins from their friends.  As they collect the coins after sending an Energy gift, the collected amount of coins is seemingly much too large.  The large amount seems to be redeemed correctly and added to the player's Coin total.  However, the inflated amount of coins that are gained causes a 'Devil is fiddling' connection error.  
After the game is refreshed, players see that the amount of coins they gained has been lost.   The amount that you will see after the refresh is the correct amount of coins that you collect during redemption.
