Hello Farmers,

Some of our players have reported that they cannot send or receive gifts. This may manifest in multiple ways:

-  Unable to publish requests for Quest items or free gifts
-  Unable to send free gifts due to an empty friends list
-  Requests do not publish to the news feed even after clicking share

We have informed the FarmVille development team of this issue. A few root causes have been identified and we are still working to resolve these issues.

Legend has it that the Lucky Mermaid brings Empire Points wherever it docks! Do whatever it takes to keep it docked in YOUR Empire—but be careful! You're not the only one who's after it...

The Lucky Mermaid is a brand-new Mini-Campaign! It's a timed quest series with a bunch of different quests you can complete, for increased rewards.

Screen shot 2011-09-29 at 2.54.07 PM

There are two branching quest paths. One tends to favor battles, while the other favors more social activities like neighbor visits. Be careful, though! Once you've chosen one, you can't go back and choose the other until you complete the quest chain!

The quest rewards are significantly higher than normal quests, and if you complete the chain before time runs out, you will not only receive Empire Points—you'll also unlock the "Golden Mermaid" decoration for your harbor! Word is that the casino on board the Golden Mermaid can generate some pretty lucrative profits for your Empire...

Lost Cave Walkthrough

Hello again, Adventurers!

Okay, now that you've completed the Jungle Path, it's time to move along to the Lost Cave. The entire map on this one is fairly small, and shouldn't take too much to complete:

The first thing you're going to want to do is pick up the whip lying on the ground. You'll need it soon!

What will you need it for? Why, to defend yourself from the creepie-crawlies, of course! Click on the spider several times, and you will defeat it. Each time you hit an enemy and do not immediately kill it, it has a chance to attack back. You can stun the creature with your blow, causing it to be unable to hit you, you can dodge the blow, or you will be hit and will lose an energy point.

After you defeat the spider, you will need to pick up the canteen that is in your path.

As you move forward, sometimes things will happen that will block your path back! In many places, the ground is often unstable. Be careful!

If you defeat the next spider,

you will be able to rescue your friend. Click on him/her to save them!

Congratulations! You're becoming quite the hero!

But wait, we aren't done yet. Now we need to find a way out.

And, of course, there are perils on the way.

As you are exploring, don't forget to note the clouds that cover parts of the map.

As you move closer to them, the clouds will lift and reveal their secrets. Always try to clear away as many clouds as you can, so you don't miss anything!

Now the way is cleared to finally get the Master Key. Click on it!

If you've gathered everything you can, you should probably be leveling up around now.

Please note that the picture of the machete means that you have the opportunity to purchase a stronger weapon, not that you actually have it already. You will still need to do a few things later (in your base camp) in order to get that more powerful version.

Now that you've picked up the Master Key, the wall behind you has sunk into the ground. Uh oh, but one more enemy awaits.

Let's take a moment to talk about enemies, while we've got a really big one in front of us here.

This spider is a level 6. But we're only level 3! *gulp* This won't be easy! Especially because the spider has 30 hit points. And our weapon, as you can see from the above picture, only does one point of damage. Well, no point worrying about it for too long. We'd better get busy!

Whew, a friend to the rescue, some nice prizes, and some good advice about upgrading your tools as soon as you can.

Now that the danger has been taken care of, click on the Master Keyhole

And the door will open.

Head through the door, and you're safely on your way to the base camp

With some nice prizes to share!

Yay, we made it!!

Back at Base Camp Walkthrough

Hello Adventurers!

Now that we're safely back at base camp, we can use the Master Key we picked up. Click on the keyhole to continue.

Uh oh, the key doesn't work. We need to do more - this is going to be more difficult than we thought!

Professor Allen looks like he wants to say something. Click on him to find out what.

Looks like we can follow him to find our base camp.

Now we have 2 quests waiting for us. The first one:

And the second one:

Let's start with the supply boats first. Click on the boat with boxes in it, to collect those supplies.

And that lets us complete step one of the Tools quest:

Now let's take a look at the other quest:

Please note: in this quest, I have a farm to place. You may have a farm, a well, OR a fuel station. Each person is randomly assigned ONE resource. You will have other opportunities to get the other resources, but you will only ever have one (farm, well, or fuel) on your own base camp.

I will place my farm:

And then I'll be told about the other resources:

The symbols on the neighbor ladder at the bottom of the screen match up with the resources your neighbors have. Since I have a farm, under my portrait on the ladder it will show a crossed knife and fork. My neighbors that have a well will have the water droplet under their picture, and my neighbors with a fuel station will have an oil droplet.

Now I'll click on my farm to collect some food for the quest. If you were randomly assigned a well or a fuel station, your quest will be to collect either water or oil.

Now the rest of the quest requires us to visit some neighbors:

But what if you don't have any neighbors yet? That's okay! You have one - John. He has all three resources, and so shows all 3 symbols beneath his picture.

Why does he get three? He's just special that way. No, you can't have three. Just because, that's why. If you click on the "Visit" button, you'll travel to his camp.

John's camp is pretty impressive! Note the positions of the three resources, and collect from them:

Hooray! That quest is completed!

At each neighbors camp, you can do 5 actions to help them out. You can tell how many actions you have left by the green action bar at the top of the screen. As you do actions, the action meter will decrease, until you have 0 left. At that point, you cannot do any more for the day.

Since you still have 2 actions left, feel free to chop down some plants, feed John's animals, or collect some supplies from John's boats.

Once you have used all 5 energy points, you get a bonus for helping!

You are limited in how much energy you can get from helping your neighbors at this time. Once you reach that limit, a different pop-up will appear, giving you the opportunity to tell your friend that you stopped by, but not showing the coins/energy/experience gain.

Now it's time to return to your base camp:

Now the only thing left on your quest pop-up is to move on to Treasure Trail. You can click the "Go" button here:

Or you can click the "Map" button here:

And select the Treasure Trail Expedition:

And that's it! You're on your way!
