Quest Not Complteing

** Update at 1115am PST 6-27-11 **

Previously, the studio has pushed a fix for this issue for quest prior to Genie's Lamp.  Player's who were previously experiencing this issue, need to log into their game and simply click on the quest icon.  The icon should disappear and the reward information should pop up.  If these steps do not help your issue, please provide Customer Support with the information below.

For players completing Genie's Lamp and still have a pop up that is showing green check marks, but not completing the quest, our developers are working on this issue and should have a fix out later today.  We appreciate your patience while the developers fix this and will update this post when a fix has been released.

Energy from Neighbor Visits in Empires & Allies Updated 6-28-11

There is another change in the amount of Energy collectable from neighbor visits in Empires & Allies.

You can now collect up to a total of 100 energy per day with neighbor visits instead of the 20 previously set.

Thank you for all of your previous feedback about this increase!

Friends and Neighbors in Empires & Allies

You can make decent progress on your own in Empires & Allies, but to really grow, you need a little help from your Friends.  In Empires & Allies, there are many ways Friends can help you grow and expand your Empire.  This includes sending gifts, having Markets where you can buy and sell resources, building your reputation, and helping each other with some of the work that goes with running an Empire.

What do the icons on my friend’s portraits mean?
User-added imageThe blue star signifies your friend’s level.
User-added imageRed hearts signify Honor score. The higher the Honor score, the more often this friend helps his neighbors.
User-added image Black hearts signify Infamy score. The higher the Infamy score, the more often this friend invades his neighbors.
User-added imageThe shield icon signifies a neighbor who is under attack, and needs your help!
User-added imageThe red crosshair signifies a neighbor who you have invaded.
User-added imageThe purple shield signifies a neighbor who is immune to invasion.
User-added imageThe blue Government building icon represents a neighbor where you have staffed one of their Government  Buildings .
User-added image The yellow bolt icon represents a neighbor who is ready to be tended. You can only tend to your neighbors’ buildings every 24 hours.

You and your Friends can send each other free Gifts.  You can request they send Gifts to you and you can send Gifts to them by clicking Send Gift on their profile picture in the Friends ladder.  You can also send Gifts by clicking Free Gifts.

User-added image

You can ask Friends in your ladder for Metal.  This is one of many ways you can get Ore that you cannot produce yourself.

You can go to your Friends’ Empires and help them out with some of their work.  To do this click on the Visit button.  When you visit a friend, you receive a small gift of energy and have five energy to use on your Friend’s island to do work for them.

User-added image

This includes chopping down trees and collecting rent and resources.  Actions at your Friends’ Empires give you XP and resources as a reward for your help.  Your Friends can choose to do the same for you; the more Friends you have, the more help you can get.

One of the most rewarding elements of playing with your friends is the reputation system.  There are two kinds of reputation you can earn.  The first kind is Honor, which appears in reward drops as a red heart.
User-added image

Honor is gained from helping friends’ Empires by harvesting crops, helping them speed up buildings, and anything else you do to help.  The second kind of reputation is Infamy, which appears in reward drops as a black heart.

User-added image

Infamy is earned by invading your friends’ empires.  As you level up in Honor and Infamy, you gain free Powerups, which you can use during Campaign play.

Finally, you can invade any of your Friends in the Neighbors ladder.  Invading Friends runs the risk of losing units, but successful invasions give huge rewards and increase your Infamy.  To do this click on the Invade button.  You cannot invade any Friends who currently have Immunity active or are below Level 6.

To add Friends to your ladder, click Invite Friends and then choose which Friends you want to add.

I cannot send a request for Festival Passes

Salut chef,

The summer is here and so is the Super Summer Food Fest event!

As you collect Festival Passes from your friends, you will notice that some of your friends will not populate your gift request list. Keep in mind that you will only be able to send requests to friends who have NOT already sent you a Festival Pass previously or sent any other request earlier today.  If your neighbor HAVE sent you a pass already or if you have sent them a request earlier today, they will not show up on your gift request list.

If you have any further questions, feel free to let us know.

Thanks for playing Cafe World and good luck on the Super Summer Food Fest contest!

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but PetVille will be experiencing outages throughout the day while we work on some server maintenance. If you find yourself not being able to log into PetVille, please try again a little later in the day. We do not anticipate these outages to be too long.

Thank you for your patience and in the meantime, please feel free to visit our forums or try any of our other games as found on www.zynga.com.

New Doobers!

Treasure Isle has been updated with new doobers and new doober functionality. As you click doobers, you will notice that each one raises the bar little by little, and when the gauge completes, it yields an energy doober.

NOTE: Energy doobers must be clicked to get the extra energy.

When doobers are not clicked, they will auto loot themselves and will not count towards the bonus bar. Auto-looted doobers will give you the XP, coins, fruit, and so forth when it auto loots, just not the energy.

New Features in Genie's Lamp

With the release of the Genie's Lamp quest, there are a few changes that will be visible to our players.

Click Here for complete Guide to Genie's Lamp quest!

A few highlights that can be found by clicking the link above:

New gameplay system - New interactive gameplay requiring clicking objects to complete quest requirements.

New Doobers -  New shiny clickable items will now appear when you get your adventure on!

New Bonus Bar, Extra Energy -  One of the biggest changes coming to Treasure Isle is the Bonus Bar which some will be familiar with from other Zynga games.

New Toaster pop-ups -  Some of the pop-ups will be familiar, but they are less intrusive. The studio is continuing to make all pop-ups displayed in this fashion, currently some of the older quest pop up will be displayed in the game screen.

New Resource, Supplies -  Supplies are a brand new resource to Treasure Isle that will help you overcome obstacles that prohibit you from moving forward, such as repairing a broken bridge.

Supply Island -  We’re excited to announce the bountiful Supply Island. Supply Island will become an intricate part to the success of your adventures as it provides you a daily refresh of supplies.

Queue Actions -  Sick and tired of waiting to dig square after square? If you said Yes, than queue digging is for you!

*NOTE - Queue digging is currently available with Genie's Lamp quest, Supply Island and while using the Speed Bull free gift with purchase of Island Cash on older maps and islands.

Hold on! Incomplete pop-up -
Every adventurer has their days and we don’t want you to miss the many secrets that Treasure Isle has to offer. You’ll see a new pop-up letting you know you’ve missed something.

Request Crew -  Some obstacles will require the help of your friends to complete.

Secret Map Mini-game -  Once the bottle is clicked, shadowy tiles will float and form with the ground. Similar to Monkey Palace and Fire God Mountain, dig the spots and use the treasure hints to find the hidden treasure.

Boat Slip -  Neighbors can park their boats in the silhouette or you can ask them to park their boats in the silhouette and share supplies.

Upgrade your boat -  We’re sure that most of you are bored with seeing your rowboat and we’ve provided a way for you to get with the times! Upgrade your boat with the help of friends to gather supplies and planks to upgrade to get your boat.

***PLEASE NOTE THAT NEW FEATURES AND ITEMS WILL NOT
AFFECT CONTENT PRIOR TO TREASURE ISLE: LEGEND OF THE GENIE’S LAMP***

I am losing connection when placing my booth outside

Kumusta chefs,

Some of our fellow chefs are reporting
that placing the booth will cause a connection error message.  As a temporary work around for this issue, please use the Go Outside button instead of using the Place It button in the quest.

We understand that this is keeping you from moving along the quest line and ultimately enter the contest.  Keep in mind that you can still ask your neighbors for Festival Passes without completing the quest for entries to our contest.

  • The most common cause is accidenally selling or deleting an item.
  • Items can also disappear due to in game bugs or connection issues with our servers. Oftentimes, if your changes do not save and the item is missing, your Farm Cash or Farm Coins are returned to the correct balance.
  • Server rollbacks, crashes, downtime or maintenance.

One Click Sharing

What is One Click Sharing?

It’s a new way to use Extended Permissions to make your farming easier! When Farmers who currently have this feature click “Share” on an item, they won’t have to wait for a Facebook window to pop up. Instead, the post is automatically made for them!

If this feature has rolled out to you, and have not given FarmVille Extended Permissions yet, you will be prompted for it and can choose to opt in or out.

If you have already given FarmVille Extended Permissions, the feature will work automatically and your posts will go out right after you click “Share” on items!

If you wish to opt out of One Click Sharing, here's how:
  • Go to Facebook.
  • Click on Account > Privacy Settings.
  • Under Apps And Websites, click on Edit your settings.
  • Under Apps You Use, click on Edit Settings.
  • Edit Settings for FarmVille.
  • For "Post to my Wall," click on "Remove"

Research Labs in Empires & Allies

Research Labs are special buildings that let you improve the units in your military.  Each Research Lab, along with the cost in Coin, Wood, and Ore, requires special parts to build.  You can ask your Friends to send you the special parts to finish building your Labs.

There will be a complete Army Research Lab in your Inventory Menu. Follow the Quest from Cross to construct and begin powering up your units!

There are five upgrades every unit can have.  Some of the upgrades require an earlier upgrade to access.  The upgrades are Increase Damage, Reduce Build Duration, Increase Accuracy, Reduce Build Cost, and Increase Strength.  Increase Accuracy, Reduce Build Cost, and Increase Strength all require previous upgrades to be researched for that unit before they can be unlocked.

Every Unit you have unlocked has access to the same set of upgrades.  Upgrades are purchased individually for each unit.  Once an upgrade is purchased it applies to all units of that type you currently possess and build in the future.

PopCap to be acquired for more than $1 billion?

Bejeweled, Peggle creator said to be evaluating purchase offers from unnamed buyers; Zynga, EA, Tencent named as possible suitors.

Source: AOL's technology blog TechCrunch.

What we heard: Casual game studios have been snapped up by big-time companies in droves of late, with the likes of PlayFish, Chillingo, Playdom, and Ngmoco all being acquired for, in some cases, hundreds of millions of dollars. Now, it appears as if casual gaming stalwart PopCap Games is the next studio in line for a massive payday.

Multiple unnamed sources have reportedly informed TechCrunch that a buyer is looking to dole out more than $1 billion to acquire PopCap. The price is apparently 10 times as much as PopCap's yearly revenues, which TechCrunch reports are around $100 million-$150 million.

Is Bejeweled a billion dollar franchise?

The problem, however, is that TechCrunch's sources have no idea who the buyer could be. FarmVille creator Zynga, which is reportedly mulling an initial public offering, is said to be one potential purchaser. However, TechCrunch's sources indicate that Zynga backed off the deal due to PopCap's high asking price.

Beyond Zynga, TechCrunch reports Electronic Arts or an Asian game company, such as Call of Duty Online service provider Tencent, could be potential suitors.

PopCap is perhaps best known for its Bejeweled franchise, which has sold more than 50 million units since first release in 2000. The most recent installment, Bejeweled 3, arrived for the PC in December, and is expected to hit other platforms later this year. The Washington-based studio has also found success with franchises such as Peggle and Plants vs. Zombies.

The official story: "Per company policy, we do not comment on rumors and speculation of this nature."--A PopCap representative.

Bogus or not bogus?: Probably not bogus that the casual-obsessed market would be giving PopCap a long, hard look. However, as recent as last week, PopCap cofounder John Vechey told the Wall Street Journal that the company is mulling its own IPO for later this year. As such, this deal, should it be in the works, is anything but finalized.

New Backpack Filter Tabs

Treasure Isle players have been mentioning for a long period of time how messy their backpacks were getting.
We have introduced a series of filter tabs to help players find items in their backpack.
The new filter tabs are:

[All] is the default tab and how the backpack was previously displayed

[Energy] Displays Fruit, Energy Packs, Candy, Box of Chocolates, etc that players use to refill their energy
[Tools] Bait, Oxygen, Feather, Shovels, Sea Grant, Chest Keys, Bombs, Mayan Jewels, Special Delivery Crates, Turtle Eggs and many more

[Decorations] Plans, Relic Bases, Gem Mine, Tiki Torches, Banana Tree, Black Pearl, Garden Hut, Happy Rainbow, and your Animals (Lemur, Panther, etc)

[Materials] Aqua Vitae, Diodes, Dye, Ectoplasm, Fire, Frosting, Glue, Gold, Marble, Mittens, Nails, Oil, Metal, Paint, Planks, Rocks, Scarf, Seeds, Shells, Slush

[Other] Gems, SPF-3000, Map Fragments, Night Sine, Golden Tickets, and some Quest Items
Things that should not count towards the backpack limit are mainly items now located in the Other Tab (some items in this tab DO count towards your total, like Quest Items, we are still working on the best way to have these item displayed in your backpack):
  • Gems
  • SPF-3000
  • Map Fragments
  • Golden Tickets
  • Holiday items - Snowflakes, Treats for Halloween Pumpkin, RSVP invites for Thanksgiving table
Fire Shovels have their own HUD icon with a counter; and will no longer appear in the Backpack.  They are displayed when visiting a map where players can use their Fire Shovels.

Gems

Gems DO NOT count towards your backpacks's total items.

Gems also only display 3 digits.  Meaning if you have 999 gems, you will see 999.  And, if you have 1000 gems, you will only see 100.  Even if you are only seeing 100 and you know you have over that amount of gems, they are all still there. You can use a few gems to go below 1000 to verify your total.

New Quest appears locked after completing previous requirments

Players have been experiencing an issue with quest requirements not being unlocked upon completing the previous quest requirements.  This has mainly been reported with the All About Application pop-up for the Trail Tracker quest, but does appear to be affecting older quests as well.

Example:

All About Application - locked

Keep in mind that there are some quest requirements that are locked on purpose that require completion prior to opening additional requirements.  These are typcially the last requirements of a quest.

Example:

Trail Tracker - correctly locked

If you are experiencing an issue similar to what is displayed in the first image (All About Application), please contact customer support with the following information, and we would be happy to help.
  1. Screen shot of current quest with locked requirements
  2. Date and Time when recieving quest pop up with info and locked requirements.
  3. Are any maps related to this quest your are having issues with still locked?

Click GO TO MAP not working properly

Players have been experiencing a known issue this morning where clicking on the Go To Map button in quest dialog pop up is not taking them to a map, but rather opening the feed post or crew invites.

Our studio is looking into this issue and should have a fix shortly.

For player experiencing this issue, you are able to travel to your desired island by clicking and navigating through the World Map.

The map icon has changed slightly as we prepare for our new adventures.  The map icon is now covered by a Genie's Lamp icon and simply click on the lamp and you will see the map icon.

Clicking my stoves shows "Install A New Stove" or can't stock my salad bar

Konichiwa Chefs!

Chefs have reported that when selecting/clicking on a stove in their Cafe, they are getting an "Install A New Stove" message, instead of their Cookbook. Another symptom is that you are unable to stock your salad bar.

After further investigation, it seems that the Cookbook is showing up a little delayed. However if players wait a few seconds, the Cookbook will eventually show up thus allowing you to click your stoves or stock your salad bar.

We apologize for the confusion regarding the "Install A New Stove" message. Our Developers are currently looking into a solution that will not be as confusing.

Trading Post Guide

The Trading Post is now available in FarmVille! With the new crop orders from the Trading Post you will be able to master your crops faster and help your friends master theirs! If you are working toward mastery of a Limited Edition crop that is about to expire, the Trading Post can give you those last few points you need to get a Mastery Sign!

Placing the Trading Post

The next time you play FarmVille, you will receive the opportunity to place a Trading Post on your farm. After you see the Trading Post announcement, the Trading Post will be on your mouse pointer and you can place it on your farm by clicking in an open space.

If you don’t see this, don’t quite have enough room on your farm, or just want to wait until later, don’t worry! You can return to your normal cursor and find the Trading Post in your Gift box or the Market for placement later.

Please keep in mind that while you can place a Trading Post on either one or both farms, however placing multiple trading posts doesn’t double the number of orders you’re able to place.

Using the Trading Post to Order Crops

Once your Trading Post is placed, you can “Look Inside” it to see what crops your neighbors have ready to trade!

When you open your Trading Post you will see a list of all the crops your friends have recently planted. Beneath each crop for each friend you will see a button labeled “Post Order” for that crop. If the button is green the crop is available for orders! Just click it and let your friend know you want to order their crop!

Completing Orders & Rewards

When your Neighbors harvest their crops, your order will be ready to claim. To do this, just go back to the For Sale screen and click on any crops with a “Claim” button under them. You will be granted some coin and Mastery XP in that crop when you claim a completed order.

Final Thoughts

It is important to know that you can only take orders for crops once every twelve hours. You only have to plant one plot for a crop to be able to take orders for it, and you do need to harvest it to complete any orders you have taken. You also have to be level five in order to place and use a Trading Post on your farm.

Some players report they cannot store additional units in the Air Depot, even after unlocking extra spaces in the building. Others state that they cannot store the initial first two units in the available spaces.

Housing produces coins in the form of rent.  Rent is produced at fixed intervals in fixed amounts depending on the type of house.   Houses also provide population for your Empire.  A larger population unlocks advanced Industry and Military buildings.

Industry

Industry Buildings produce resources for your Empire.  All Industry buildings are unlocked by increasing your population.  Industry buildings are located in the Build menu in the Industry tab:

There are three types of Industry Buildings in Empires & Allies.

·
Small Farm: The Small Farm produces crops that can be harvested for coins.  You unlock crops by increasing your level.

·
Market:  You use the Market to sell your resources to your friends or buy resources from them.

·
Production buildings:  These buildings include the Lumbermill, Oil Derrick, and Ore Mine.  Each of these buildings produces resources according to a contract.  These buildings are available in Levels I, II, and III which are unlocked by increasing your Population.  More advanced production buildings produce larger amounts of resources per contract compared to less advanced production buildings.

Military

Military Buildings are the foundation of your military machine in Empires & Allies.  You use Military buildings to build the fighting force to defend your Empire.

The three types of military buildings are Barracks, Shipyards, and Hangars.  Barracks produce Land units.  Shipyards produce Sea units.  Hangars produce Air units.  Each type comes in Levels I, II, and III. More advanced buildings produce more advanced units and require higher population to build.

Government

You build Government buildings to increase your maximum population. Each Government Building must be staffed to be completed.  You can staff Government Buildings with your friends or use Empire Points to hire people for each position:
