Release Notes: Leaderboards! (8/2/11)

Info from Official Empires & Allies blog:

Ten-HUT!

Today's patch introduces a new feature: Leaderboards!

Leaderboards are a whole new way to play Empires & Allies with your friends. You and all of your neighbors will be tracked together based on your progress towards different goals, and you'll be able to compare your progress to your friends.

We'll be rolling out with three different leaderboards:
  • Campaign Progress: Complete the most campaign battles.
  • Ore Investment: Spend the most Ore within the time period.
  • Damage Dash: Deal the most combat damage within the time period.
Some leaderboards (like the Campaign Progress leaderboard) are permanent, and will always be available to help you compare your progress. Others, though—like the Ore Investment and Damage Dash leaderboards—have a definite end-date, and award prizes to the players who finish first!

These leaderboards offer milestone prizes, which you get for passing certain milestones, as well as trophies that you can earn for coming in first, second, or third place among your friends.

This is the first round of leaderboards, but there are lots more coming down the line!

Bear in mind—we are rolling this feature out slowly across all players! If you don't have access to your leaderboards yet, please be patient! We'll get to you shortly!

We've also got a lineup of other fixes and improvements!

Additions/Improvements
  • Beware—the Dark Alliance has been tuning up their armies, and you may start to see some tricks you haven't seen before!
  • When you visit neighbors, you can now see the Government Building and Market icons at the maximum zoom level.
  • Added quests around the Opera House and the Mint.
Fixes
  • The buttons on the 'My Neighbors' tab should no longer extend out of the frame.
  • Removed the redundant hover tooltips on Military buildings and Farms.
  • Fixed an error caused by buying 5 Energy when your Energy meter was full.
  • Fixed an error where trying to buy a Starter Pack while in full-screen mode wouldn't show the purchase dialog until the player left full-screen mode.
