Troops' Address: 12/15

Welcome to our third Troops' Address!

I want to take a moment to thank each of you for playing Empires & Allies. The Empires & Allies Community is a constant source of inspiration to the development team, and we're honored to have you here.

There have been a few changes that have gone out in E&A recently that have caused some controversy. I want to take a moment to let people know what's going on and why we're making these changes.

We've been in direct contact with a number of our most hardcore players, and a few things have been mentioned a lot. You know from experience that around level 25, your economy engine really starts to take off, and your ability to produce resources goes through the roof. In fact, high-level players have so many resources that they no longer have to make meaningful decisions about what to spend those resources on. In the long term, situations like this can detract from the fun of the game.

With that in mind, we have a number of changes coming up—some as soon as tonight!—to resolve this. These changes include some really exciting new features and mechanics, cool new stuff to spend your resources on, tweaks to the economy, and improvements to pvp invasions and the fight engine. I've been playing around with these new systems on some of our test serves, and I'm really excited about what we have coming up.

While these changes roll out, please continue to post your constructive feedback here on the forums. Your feedback is one of the primary factors we bear in mind when we're making updates to the game. Remember when you do that we're not only looking at forum feedback, we're also looking directly at game actions—things like, "How many fights per day does each player engage in?" "What units are people building?" "How much energy do people spend fighting versus tending their island?" "How many people are completing this new quest we've just introduced?" If we introduce a tweak to the pvp invasion system and we notice that people are invading more often, that kind of data helps us interpret the feedback we get from you and determine what action to take next.

We're proud of the work we've done on this next phase of E&A's growth, and we think you will be too when you see what we've got cooked up!

Alright now, you know how I feel. I will be proud to lead you wonderful players into battle anytime, anywhere. That's all.
