Grab your hard hat, hammer and head to CityVille this week to do more than just build your favorite burger joint. People across the world will be able to contribute to Habitat for Humanity in Zynga’s own version of “Monopoly meets Main Street,” by purchasing three limited edition virtual goods, including a Habitat Community, Habitat Peppers and a Habitat Shipping Route.
Zynga will donate 100% of the proceeds to Zynga from these extraordinary goods to help Habitat for Humanity provide decent, affordable housing to low-income families around the world, through Zynga’s philanthropic initiative Zynga.org. Since Zynga.org launched in 2009, hundreds of thousands of players have raised more than $10 million through contributions in-game to a variety of nonprofit organizations, and have collectively helped build a school in Haiti, generated timely resources for humanitarian relief in the wake of natural disasters, and provided much needed funding for children in poverty.
